Yahoo! Personals gets more than 4 million visitors a month and has a data base of 13 million. That is why it pays to be specifc when you write your profile. The site has improved greatly since its inception, particularly after the switch to paid memberships.
Paid, that is, if you want to initiate emails or talk via Instant Messenger. There is still no charge for searching the data base or creating your profile.
If you want to meet people who are geographically close, then the large data base is a good bet. Both American and Canadian singles will find the features simple to use.
If you are already a Yahoo member, all you have to do is sign in and you can start creating your profile. If you are not, you can register free and get access, not only to the personals, but to all the site's other features as well, such as email, games, chat, and messenger.
Special Features
The search features have been improved. You can find a match by location and interest. The advanced search lets you specify the ideal qualities you tend to favor.
You can also set up Mutual Matching to find members looking for someone with qualities like yours.
If you save your search, then the Matches By Mail service will deliver relevant matches directly to your mail box.
The profiles are comprehensive and include a personal comment, photos, and if you want, voice and video greetings. A colored graph is displayed showing how well you and the other person match.
Pricing Structure
One month subscription is $19.95. Three months is $42.95 (less than $15 a month). One year is $89.95 (less than $8 a month).
